Eating: Annie still likes her baby food, but is getting a little better about picking up table foods that we eat. Her favorites include strawberries, Ritz crackers, graham crackers, and macaroni and cheese. Chewing got even easier this month with 2 more top teeth, for a total of 6 teeth now! She is pretty good about trying fruits, but still prefers that her veggies are pureed. She also likes yogurt mixed with her fruit and cereal in the morning. She and her daddy actually eat almost the same breakfast each day. One morning both of the kids had berries with breakfast so I had to get a picture of their messy faces.
We are also introducing a sippy cup since she has to be able to use one at school once she is one. We are just putting in water until she gets the hang of it. I think it makes her look so grown up!
Sleeping: No big changes here! We've had a total of 3 nights where she only woke once to eat. They were glorious, but fleeting! Annie is an early riser like her brother, and she wakes up happy and ready to start her day right away! Most days she takes two naps, but can go without one sometimes.
Enjoying: Everything! This girl greets each day with enthusiasm and is pretty delighted with life in general. She is incredibly curious and is getting better and better at finding what she wants and investigating. Investigations are especially fun if they involve banging noises or pulling things off of shelves or cabinets. She can very quickly clear off a surface... someday I will turn this skill into help around the house! For now, we just follow her around, cleaning up her messes.
Big brother and the pets are still great sources of entertainment. She gives Cade the biggest smile when she sees him and always laughs at the pets. She is also starting to like dolls, and will sometimes talk to them in her secret language.
Her favorite songs are the ABCs and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Thanks to Cade's obsession, she also likes What Does the Fox Say! She can play peek a boo and likes books. I tried introducing her to a wooden puzzle, but she just tried to eat the pieces. Being outside is always fun, and she's also been doing great in the stroller on walks! Knock on wood... we also had 2 successful car rides today!!
Growing: At her most recent doctor appointment (thankfully, it was an ear check and everything was clear!) she weighed 19 pounds, 7 ounces. Annie is graduating to 12 month clothes, which is great fun for me! She has so many precious outfits in this size that we received from family and friends. Doesn't she look so tall here?
I had a fun little photo shoot with Annie (and a few of Cade too) this Saturday. The three of us had a really fun day while Chance was at a powerlifting meet. We miss Chance so much when he is home, but we stay busy and I try to have one-on-one time with each kid during the day. I really do cherish this time! This Saturday, we ate lunch at Chick fil A, bought Annie some new shoes, and went to the playground with Cade's friend Jaden. Here's a glimpse into our day!
And Chance's hard work away from home every weekend is paying off... both the boys and girls powerlifting teams won the meet this weekend and they have several members that have already qualified for the regional meets. Go Cougars!
