Cade Turns SIX

On April 23, our big guy turned SIX years old! I still remember the day we found out I was pregnant with Cade. We were surprised, excited, and had no idea how drastically and wonderfully our lives would change. Funny, that is still how we feel sometimes with our boy Cade! He has grown into an intelligent, funny, creative, strong, and energetic young man. He loves running, karate, queso, chicken tenders, ice cream, eating at Polly's, watching movies, Ninja Turtles, superheros, jumping, and being with his family. We are so thankful for our firstborn, and especially thankful that Annie has him as a role model.

Unfortunately, this is how Cade spent his birthday:

That's right... this poor guy was sick on his birthday :( Cade went to work with me for part of the day and was a great sport about watching my Aggies do their skills test in dance classes. Then we went home in between classes for some rest time. We had to go back in the afternoon for one more class, but Cade was feeling better by then and my class even sang Happy Birthday to him! We didn't get to do all of the fun birthday things we had planned, but we were just so glad that he was better the next day!

I got to take birthday cupcakes to Cade's class on Friday. It was so fun to celebrate with him and his friends.

Friday night was another great time to celebrate - Cade had his graduation to yellow belt at karate! We are so proud of his dedication to this. He and the other orange belts performed their forms and then got to show off their favorite moves. Then each one got his new yellow belt! Thank you so much to Oma and Nana for coming to watch him.

Here are some favorite recent pictures of Cade recently. We are so glad he is not scared of the camera anymore!
