The rest of our spring break was great!
We started Wednesday (St. Patrick's Day) with green milk for Cade. Then we all put on our green and went to Brother's Pond Park. It was a beautiful day and we had fun feeding the ducks, going on a nature walk, and playing on the playground. Cade loves picking up sticks wherever he goes, and there were lots to choose from at the park!
On Thursday, we ventured to the Houston Zoo with the Goodletts. This was our first big outing with Cade, and it really went well! 3 hours at the zoo with 3 kids (and pretty much every single school-age child in Texas) was plenty, and we got to see most of the major animals. Cade's favorites were the llamas, elephants, and a funny little lizard. We really had a great time and can't wait to go to the Waco Zoo in May with Natalie.
No trip to Houston is complete without a visit to Chance's favorite restaurant, James Coney Island. Chance ate enough hotdogs to last him until our next trip, and Cade had some free ice cream. Then he totally crashed on the way home and had a nice long nap. Watching all of those animals was exhausting!
On Friday, Chance went to the girls state powerlifting meet in Corpus, so Cade and I had some quality time together. He helped me plant flowers in the front yard was a good little errand runner. Nana and Papa kept Cade on Saturday so I could grade papers (nothing like waiting until the LAST minute during spring break for that!) and have a Southern Living party. We were very happy when Daddy got home late Saturday night and had a fun family day on Sunday.
