Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday celebrating everything you are thankful for this year. Our little family is so blessed, and we have really enjoyed extra time at home this week. We are especially thankful, of course, for Cade. In some ways, he is growing up way too fast for us, and in other ways, we are constantly reminded that he is very much a two year old. He can go from speaking in complete sentences about events that occured months ago to throwing a complete tantrum over washing his hands in the matter of a few minutes. Two of his most recent accomplishments are being able to recognize football teams by their colors (thank you, Thanksgiving football schedule) and being very good about using the potty. He has also started understanding the value of rewards, as was demonstrated tonight in his remarkable patience while waiting in the very looong line at Marble Slab. This kid loves his ice cream, and Mama and Daddy love him!

A few weeks ago, Cade made a Thankful Tree at home. To give you a little context about some of his answers, we saw camels that day at the Brazos Valley Worldfest, and one of the questions I asked him was about his favorite animal. He had also been asking to watch Shrek all day that day, which is why he answered "Shrek" when I asked him what was his favorite thing to play with.

We celebrated Thanksgiving with Chance's family in Bryan this week. Cade and Xavier were so excited to see each other, and ate up all of Uncle Chance/Daddy's attention!

Chance's cousin Debi also visited with her family, and we attempted a picture of Nana's 5 great-grandchildren. I went through the 60+ pictures I took and this was the best one.

Of course, there were a lot of outtakes. One attempt to make the kids smile was to get out the Liggett family's "Elf on the Shelf".

Things really went downhill when Nana tried to get in the picture and Brody decided he'd had quite enough.

Chance helped his dad get the Christmas tree down from the attic. Cade and Xavier were fascinated with the process.

Let's get this tree inside and ready for Christmas!

I love them gazing up at the attic! Great storytelling image.
