Easter in New Braunfels

We were blessed to celebrate an early Easter in New Braunfels this weekend with Alyssa's family. It was great to see family and friends!

Oma and Opa gave Cade his first egg hunt of the season on Saturday morning at their house. He definitely "gets" it this year... he had a great time finding the eggs and discovering the prizes inside. He also did confetti eggs for the first time and they were a hit! He now wants to see if every egg is a confetti egg, and some of my decorative ones are definitely NOT! My mom spent probably way too much time filling water balloons for Cade, and he splattered them on the side of the house in less than 5 minutes. What a good Oma!

Saturday morning we also visited my old high school to see the newly famous red football field. It is really an amazing and kind of alarming site. The turf is most definitely red, and there is a lot of it! It was just like any ol' football field to Cade, though, and he took off running as soon as we got there.

Another reason for our visit to New Braunfels was a party to meet my friend Jenny's baby boy Clark. He was born last fall and our high school group always loves an excuse to get together! Jennifer had us over to her house for lunch and fellowship... and shared the exciting news that Baby Marlow #3 is on the way! I am so thankful for this special group of girlfriends and the time we can now share with our kiddos.

We completed our Easter celebration on Saturday afternoon at Great Oma's house. After an interesting experiment with colored bubbles (attention moms - do not buy these!), Cade enjoyed another egg hunt and we all ate dinner together.

We headed back to College Station a little earlier than planned because Cade really missed his daddy. Chance had to work at a track meet last weekend so he wasn't able to come to New Braunfels. It is so sweet to see the two of them reunite!
