Our first stop (even before my parents' house) was the indoor trampoline park. This place is super fun and I just cannot wait for us to get one in B/CS. The kids showed off their high jumps and flips, and Chance and I got enough of a workout for our Fitbits to recognize it.
We met my parents that afternoon at the Spring Fed Pool at Landa Park. I think this place gets colder and colder every year, and that has nothing to do with my increasing age. Since the pool is fed with river water, Cade wanted nothing more than to swim next to a fish, but we never saw any. We braved it for about an hour and then ate the pizza picnic that my mom brought. We tried our best at a family picture in the pool... the first one is the funniest... Annie decided she had to pee, I got the first splash of frigid water on the small of my back, Chance was telling me to calm down, and Cade was just happy to be in the water. Our 2nd attempt was a little better, and after this we all swam to the other side! Which is also further than it was when I was a kid.
The next day we went back to Landa Park to feed the ducks, go fishing, and ride the train.
That night we went to Great Oma's house and celebrated summer birthdays. While Cade played inside with Great Oma's little dog Mia, Annie and I went outside to "water" Great Oma's plants. In the family who saves everything, we used an old jug that my Opa labeled for seasoning for sausage. I'm so glad we still have his touches around.
Our next outing was fishing and exploring under the Faust Street bridge. This is such a pretty setting, and each time we go, I think we should have planned to swim there! Must work on the remembering things.
Despite Cade's face, he really does love fishing. He does not love his mama taking close-up pictures of his beautiful eyelashes.
Afternoons in Oma and Opa's backyard are always fun! BB guns are shot, water balloons are thrown, and a funny hat always ends up on Opa's head.
I haven't been to the Aggie Fish Fry since the summer of 1997, so it was super fun that we all got to go together! We sat with my friend Leslie, whose son is Annie's age. They were in the same class together at daycare until Leslie and her family moved home to New Braunfels this summer. At first, Cade and Annie weren't too sure about the Yell Leaders, but they warmed up and took a precious picture!

Thanks to all this fun, the kids are already asking when we will go back to Oma and Opa's house!
