Family Visits

We've spent some great time with Alyssa's family the past few days. On Saturday, everyone came over to our house to celebrate Alyssa's mom and Oma's birthdays. That morning, Oma and Opa took Cade to a park so I could finish getting the house ready. He had lots of fun splashing in the water fountain and running around.

Cade was quite the charmer back at the house

My Oma always says that she is 39 years old, so my mom decided that she is 29. I would like to re-do my last birthday please! (Ignore the ugly cake in this picture... I had a little trouble with the icing, but it tasted good!)

We were also blessed with a visit from Alyssa's brother Chris the past few days. He is on leave from the Army for two weeks. He and Jessi were able to take a fabulous trip to New York and now he is visiting Texas while she is back at work. Chris got to really experience his energetic nephew this visit, and we were all so very happy to see him! He shared his absolute favorite dessert, a gingerbread man, with Cade the first night he was here. This was VERY generous, if you know how much Chris loves his gingies. Cade is now a fan of them as well!

We went to the park, and Cade convinced Uncle Chris to slide down the slide. Hilarious!

Thanks for hanging out with us, Chris! We can't wait to see you again next year!
