December Fun

Tis the season to be busy! It is so much fun getting to participate in fun holiday events and see everything through Cade's eyes. Last week, we went to a Night in Bethlehem at Chance's parents' church. It is amazing how much work was put into this event! One of their church halls was made into a street from Bethlehem, with artisans displaying their crafts and providing demonstrations for the children.

There was a bread making station, which Cade found way too messy for his liking.

A music station, where everybody received a jingle bell.

And a petting zoo, which was full of very cute animals, but was apparently petrifying for Cade. Check out his grip on Chance's shirt! There were just too many kids there for him to have fun.

Last weekend we were able to attend the A&M basketball game through their Guest Coach program. This is one of the many benefits of teaching at A&M!

We saw the locker room, where every athlete has a computer in their locker room for watching game film. This is the locker for a student that was recruited by A&M, but unfortunately passed away in a car accident just before the fall semester began. His parents donated his locker to the team and it stays there in his memory.

Cade's favorite part of the tour was the training room. He enjoyed testing out the balance boards! Actually, he really wanted to get in the weight room, but tours aren't allowed in there. Chance was so proud of Cade's curiosity!

Cade and Daddy shot some hoops in the practice gym.

Another highlight of the game for Cade was the HEB Buddy. We really need to go to our new HEB to see him again!

Giving the players high fives from the bench was really fun! I have never felt so small in my life!

Could you please explain the Guest Coach thing? Is this a violation of NCAA rules? I do love my alma mater, but not when they are playing my employer!

I'm sure we didn't violate any NCAA rules... you know the players received no benefit whatsoever from my "coaching"! :) Actually, our only interaction with the athletes was giving high fives before the game. Everything else was coordinated by their academic advisor.
