Annabeth - One Month Old

Annabeth is one month old already! People told us that it wouldn't take long for us to feel like we have always been a family of four, and they were right! While we are still getting adjusted to two kids needing our attention, it does feel like little Annie fits perfectly into our family! Here are some fun facts about our one month old:

Eating: About 9-10 times a day! At about 30 minutes per feeding, I spend about 5 hours a day nursing this sweet girl. It is going well, though, and I love the bonding time.

Sleeping: I'm sure I'm jinxing us, but she is sleeping well at night! She only wakes up about twice to eat, the first time usually around 1:00 or 2:00 am. So if I was good about going to bed early, I would get a good stretch of sleep there! Sometimes Annie has a hard time going back to sleep after eating, so we are working on that. She still naps quite a bit during the day, and prefers to nap on her stomach on someone's chest. I am trying to put her down as much as possible so she doesn't get used to being held all the time, and that is somewhat successful.

Growing: I think she weighs about 10 pounds. Newborn clothes and diapers haven't been an option since the first week, so she wears 0-3 month onesies and size 1 diapers. We already think she looks bigger in the Baby Bjorn and I can tell that she is longer when I move her from one arm to the other.

Enjoying: She loves looking at Cade! She always turns toward him when he talks and he can often get her to stop crying. I know they are going to be great friends! We *may* have coaxed a few smiles out of her so far. Annie does NOT enjoy being in her carseat or in the car. Hopefully this will change as she grows, because Mama likes to get out and run errands!
