Annabeth Cate - 7 months

Time is flying by! Sweet Annie turned 7 months old about a week and a half ago and she has been busy growing and moving!

Here are her developments this month:

Eating: We've tried some new foods, but she is a creature of habit and still likes 4 of them the best - applesauce, pears, sweet potatoes, and carrots. We've tried blueberries with yogurt, which went OK. She does NOT like green beans, peas, or mango. She is getting better at picking up small pieces of food, so Puffs are now part of our world again! She can also pick up Cheerios pretty well. Unfortunately, she rejected Daddy's pancake. We'll have to work on that!

No luck on eliminating any of her nursing or bottle feedings. Oh well.

Sleeping: Please, oh please, don't let this jinx us, but she is sleeping better at night this week! When Annie first started crawling, she would wake herself up at night about every hour and a half and try to crawl around her crib. You would think this would tire her out. It did not. She also had a rough period of sleep when she had an ear infection, poor baby. But the past few nights she has slept in 3-4 hour spurts, which is wonderful to me! Her naps are OK, as long as we let her sleep in our bed. Cade always took his naps on the couch, so at least we are not banned from the living room while she sleeps! At this point, naps are precious, no matter where they occur.

Growing: So much! Annie weighed 17 pounds, 5 ounces at her ear infection appointment. She wears 6-9 month clothes and so far tolerates bows in her hair pretty well. Thankfully, she is adjusting to having her feet covered and is good about wearing socks during the day and now sleeps in precious little footed sleepers.

Enjoying: She likes to move it, move it! Her crawling is really taking off, especially if we let her not wear any pants so her legs aren't so slippery. The greatest motivators for crawling are cell phones, remote controls, and Holly. She loves playing on her mat at home with all of her toys, and likes to do the same thing at school. Her teachers are always nice enough to set her up with a basket of toys which she methodically unpacks each morning. Her favorite toys make jingling sounds. She also loves standing up! She can't pull up on her own yet, but if we stand her up, she can hold onto something and is quite happy. Cade gets the biggest smiles out of her, and the love between them is mutual!
