Right before Spring Break started, Papaw spent a week working in College Station and stayed several nights with us. He got to go to Cade's karate class with us one evening and enjoyed seeing his grandson spar.
Sheri, Zoe, and Xavier were ending their Dallas spring break last Friday, so they came to Bryan and all picked up Cade and Annie together. It was great fun for the cousins! After a tasty stop at Spoons, they all went to Nana and Papa's for dinner and a sleepover.
While the kids were away and Chance was at a powerlifting meet, I thought I would spend a long Friday evening grading papers (oh, the excitement of spring break!), but our friends had more fun plans in store! Russell, Chris, Karen, Garrett, Avery, and Lilly came to visit and we all met for dinner at Wings and More. It was super fun to hang out with our college friends, but a little weird without the rest of my family!
The next day, Chance and I spent the morning with family at his parents' house while our friends toured campus. We met up at the Aggie baseball game in the afternoon. Check out all of these good looking Aggies!
Chris and Karen's kids were pretty content to sit and watch baseball, but ours preferred the playground. This is such a great addition to Olsen Field!
By the 4th inning, Annie had fallen twice on the playground and everyone was hungry, so we headed out for a Sonic dinner. Good thing we left early - the Aggies did not score at all while we were there, but once we left, they started getting runs and ended up extending their winning streak to 20 games in a row! Our friends stopped by the house on their way out of town and it was hard to say goodbye. We are so thankful for these friendships that started with the guys meeting each other in class in the late 1990s, and have lasted through many moves, kids, and jobs. We hope to see everybody again soon!
