Spring Break 2015 - Cougar Send Off

Our Spring Break is always begins and ends with powerlifting! Chance and Coach Frashure took 11 girls to the State Powerlifting meet in Corpus Christi near the end of the break. Usually, kids get a big send off at school if they are headed to a state competition, but since these girls were leaving during a holiday, we took it upon ourselves to enhance their send off! Making posters for the Cougars was a good inside project on another rainy day (although I did regret getting out the glitter).



The next morning, we went up to the school to officially wish the girls luck!



I went on quite a few dance team trips, and I can safely say that we did not pack as much as these girls! For a one-night trip, each girl averaged 2 bags, plus a pillow and a backpack of snacks. So, we were at the school much longer than we planned as Chance did his best to squeeze everything into the vehicles. It was quite a feat! We finally got some pictures when almost everything was packed!



The girls did great, and ended up tying for 1st place, but leaving with 2nd due to not winning the tie breaker. Ashley Troutman, the girl below, won 1st place in her weight class for the 2nd year in a row. We are so proud of all of the young women!
