Oops, Corpus

Our trip to the Waco Zoo was very fun, but it also taught me that I was not quite ready to drive to Corpus by myself with the kids. We had planned on the kids and I meeting Chance there for the state powerlifting meet... at first we were going to ride in the van with the team (nope, too crowded), then we were going to follow them (nope, there was no way the kids could make the whole trip without stopping, which is what the coaches wanted to do), then we were going to drive by ourselves the next morning (nope, I'm a wimp). So, like any mature, 36-year-old mother of 2 would do, I called my mom. Thankfully, she and Dad were able to help us out! The drive to Corpus from New Braunfels is much quicker than coming from College Station, so we got there nice and early and headed straight to the aquarium. We had a great time seeing sharks, stingrays, and turtles.

The kids, Oma, and Opa got to watch the dolphin show. I'm so glad we all got to be together!

Oh, you know, just hanging around watching some turtles swim after lunch.

We ran into one of my friends from high school (small world!) and she took these pictures for us.

Then we attempted some pictures on the pier. Some went better than others.

The dolphin observation room is one of our favorite spots. It is so serene in there.

And then it was time to go watch Daddy and the Cougars finish their state powerlifting competition!

They came away with 2nd place overall and several medals and records. We are so proud of them!
