I've been debating about whether to try to catch up on the blog or just start fresh with summer, but we had such fun over spring break that I just can't skip over it completely. Here is our week of fun in a nutshell:
According to my facebook memory, we started off spring break the exact same way as last year - with an Aggie baseball game! We skipped Annie's nap today (gasp!) so we could go to the game right after church. It was a beautiful afternoon and we all had fun at the game!
Later that afternoon, we finally used up all of our leftover rocks and bricks from the front of the house when we (Chance) built a fire pit in the backyard! We've been talking about having one for awhile, and this was the perfect opportunity to continue to put the extra materials toward something positive.
The next day, I needed to practice a posture on our yoga wall, and the fam was nice enough to come with me. Who doesn't hang upside down at work?!?
Then we met up with Karen and her kiddos at the Chicken for lunch. We've had lunch (and every other meal/snack/drink) at the Chicken at every stage of our lives with Chris and Karen, and this was our first trip with Annie. We also got to re-meet Karen's sister (who seemed like a little girl at their wedding and now she is getting ready to start Vet School)! The kids all played so well together, and we always promise that we won't go so long in between visits!
The Waco Zoo was our next destination. This has become a Spring Break tradition and it is perfect every time. It is just the right distance away, just the right size, and a great annual way to see how the kids' experiences change each year. But this might be the last year of the wagon. Pulling both kids is hard work, even for Chance!
Here are our other highlights:
On St. Patrick's Day, the kids and I took a walk through our neighborhood and found our first bluebonnets!
We saw Daddy and the girl powerlifters off to State on Friday!
Then the kids and I headed to New Braunfels for ice cream and tricycle riding.
Next stop, Corpus Christi!
