We Do Sports

Sports never stop in this family! So far this summer, we've had football, soccer, track, basketball, and swimming. You would think these kids would sleep in!

Cade played flag football with the City of College Station this spring, but since the season started late, it actually continued a little bit into summer. He really loved playing quarterback for the Dolphins, and was super excited that Daddy got to be the coach for the last game!

CSHS offered a new sports camp this year - Passing Camp for future quarterbacks and receivers. One of my former students organized and coached it, and he did a great job! Current and former Cougar football players also helped coach, and Cade had a fantastic time!

Annie finished her Hot Shots soccer season with a skills show off day, and she did one day of Cougar soccer camp before we left for Arkansas. She really does well at soccer, and I wish she would do it again! But she insists that she do ballet in the fall. At least it is inside!

Cade waits for track camp every year from the day it ends to the day it begins again. Fortunately, he has the running program in school PE to keep him somewhat busy during the year. This year, he earned 13 toe tokens, and it takes 20 laps to earn a token. Each lap is 1/4 of a mile. I'll let you math wizards figure out how much he ran; all I know is that it was a lot! He was #2 in the whole 3rd grade. We were so glad that we all got to go to the assembly where the Golden Shoe Award winners were honored!

Whew! That's a lot of sports already! I'll have to finish track, basketball, and swimming later!
