Since it's summer....
We spent our first week off in Arkansas! It was beautiful, and we really enjoyed the time with Nana, Papa, Sheri, Bob, Zoe, and Xavier!
The men started the trip with an early morning fishing expedition where they caught 5 fish!
While the guys were out, the ladies explored the beautiful Garvan Botanical Gardens. Zoe and Annie spent some quality time watching a peacock strut his stuff!
Our house was right on a lake and the kids (of all ages!) had a great time swimming and kayaking.
The next day we went to the Hot Springs National Park, where we walked around the grounds, sampled some HOT water, and felt thankful that we have more private bathtubs these days!
On our last day, I was determined for our family to spend some time in a state park. I found a trail online that was marked "easy", so I thought this would be a great way to get us out in nature one more time. It turned out that an "easy" trail is actually a sidewalk, and the only nature that we experienced was spiderwebs, a sighting of one deer, and two naturally irritated kids.
Thank you, Nana and Papa, for letting us all kick off summer together! And thank you, Zoe, for teaching your uncle how to use a selfie stick!
