Downtown Houston Aquarium

We finished out our Galveston vacation with a day at the Aquarium in downtown Houston. This used to be just a restaurant, but has expanded into a full aquarium exhibit and rides. If you live nearby, it is definitely worth the drive! The exhibits are great and kids of all ages can enjoy the rides.

Cade was very happy that this aquarium featured sharks too! One of the rides is a train that goes through a tunnel in the shark tank. We defintely got our money's worth since we rode the train 3 times!

After almost 3 days of vacation in the sun and no "quiet time" (which has replaced naps in our house... I am still in mourning), Cade was pretty exhausted. He was not actually asleep in the picture below, and maybe had just had enough of the picture taking for a bit, but it was pretty funny anyway.

After we finished with the train, we headed inside to the exhibits. They had all of the usual pretty fish, along with this...

And, they had white tigers! These were much more awake than the ones we saw in Vegas.

After a tasty lunch (Cade tried scallops and mahi-mahi!), we rode one more ride - a marine-themed carousel. I bet you can guess what Cade rode!

Chance is a VERY good dad!

I am content to hide behind the camera, so there is no evidence of me riding on the seahorse!

We had such a great family vacation this year. Cade has grown up so much and was a very adaptable little traveler. We love seeing things through his inquisitive eyes.
