And we're off! Cade was stocked with snacks and his favorite movies. We finally convinced him to wear his headphones so Chance and I could actually talk without getting fussed at by a 4 year old that couldn't hear his movie!
Cade and the great white shark! He has been asking to go back to Moody Gardens and see the sharks pretty much since we left last year, so he was so happy to be reunited with them.
Sharks were a big part of this trip.
A stop by the stingrays
And a walk to the Rainforest
Last year, Cade slept through our walk in the Rainforest Pyramid, so he enjoyed it much more this year. We saw some interesting animals and it was easier to take pictures because we weren't in a dark shark tank the whole time. Here are some of our faves:
Then it was back to the hotel for a little downtime
And jumping on the beds. There is probably not a single person that does not have fond memories of jumping on hotel beds as a kid. It is just as fun, but a little scarier, to watch as a parent!
That night we had a tasty seafood dinner and Cade discovered that he likes grilled shrimp! Perhaps this is the beginning of the end of living on chicken tenders when we go on vacation! We also stopped at Ben and Jerry's for ice cream. Just in case you thought Cade started liking pictures, here is proof that he is still against them sometimes.
The next day was a GREAT day. We had the best beach day!
Cade said he loved the "rushing water"
To make the day even better, the Johnson family joined us!! Hello Natalie!
The kids had some serious fun playing in the sand.
At some point, he may care if he gets this dirty, but at the beach it does not matter!
Thank you, Johnsons, for a fabulous day!
That afternoon we went to the American Flight Museum by our hotel. Something special happened here and Cade decided that he liked pictures! So much that we have a picture of him with EVERY SINGLE PLANE in the museum. It was overwhelming. Since they all look pretty much the same to me, I chose a random one to put on the blog.
For dinner that night we ate at Fisherman's Wharf. It was really tasty, and we splurged and got a huge sundae to share. It was delicious and worth it to see the smile on Cade's face when it came!
Our hotel had a putt-putt golf course for guests and we decided to try it after dinner. Golf with a four year old should really be called "chase the ball with a stick"!
One of the holes had a tower next to it. Cade asked if he could climb it, and without really thinking, I said yes. So he climbed!
We finished our vacation with a trip to the Downtown Houston Aquarium, but that will have to be in the next post. This one is already way too long and I need to go to bed!
