Pastors John and Jamison performed the Baptism
Annie's Baptism sponsors were our all of our siblings - Chris, Sheri, Austin, Wade, and Lindsay. Due to work and other conflicts, only Sheri and Austin were able to attend, and we are so glad they were there! Austin is an ordained minister, so it was very special that he was able to offer the responsive reading during the service.
We really love the Ekklesia service at our church. It is truly a church family, and we are excited to bring Annie into its welcoming arms. Seeing the symbolic act of washing away her sins and recognizing her as a child of God makes me realize how much we need all of the Christians in our lives that encourage us, teach us, and pray for us.
Jamison walked around to show Annie off to the congregation. In this picture, Chance and I were rejoicing in the fact that she was not crying! It was really special to see Jamison do this, as he was the pastor that visited us in the hospital the day after having Annie. He is a very young pastor and is getting married in a few months. It is precious to see him (all 6' 7" of him!) hold our little baby girl and be so smitten with her.
We welcome you into the Lord's family!
And look at all of our family that attended! We are so blessed.
This was Melodye and Austin's first time to meet Annie.
After church, everyone came over to our house for lunch. I was so thankful for my mom, Oma, Jan, Nana, and Melodye for getting everything ready for lunch while I fed Annie!
Singing happy birthday to Chance!
We all needed a nap.
Annabeth's baptism outfit is very special... it is the same one I wore when I got baptized in August 1979. It is amazing how perfect the dress still is (thanks to my mom for saving it!!) and that it fit her, since I was much smaller when I was baptized. She also wore the crosses that my parents gave my brother and me for our baptisms. I hope Cade and Annie will be able to continue these small traditions with their children!
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.
