Friends - Old and New

Last week, we were blessed by a visit from Kelsey and Natalie! It is so nice of them to come to us, as Annie still does not enjoy the carseat and a trip to Houston would send me over the edge.

I love it that Cade and Natalie play so well together even though they only see each other every few months now. They get so excited at first, and then calm down and just play. It was almost like old times... Kelsey and I just sat and chatted while the big kids played and Annie napped. We haven't had that long of a conversation in a long time!

One of the items on Cade's bucket list was to make an explosion. We decided to do some science experiments while Natalie was here because explosions are always better with more people to watch!

We made Elephant Toothpaste. I'll list the recipe at the end of this entry if anyone would like to try this at home. It was really fun!

We also made a volcano using Diet Coke and a roll of Mentos. This reaction is really quick, but pretty cool!

Annie enjoyed cuddles with Kelsey and some time outside!

After spending an afternoon with his very first friend, Cade was ready the next day for his first sleepover with his new best friend, Garrett! He has been asking to have a sleepover with Garrett for months, and the mamas were finally ready to give it a try! Here is my big boy carrying his bag up to the door.

Even though the boys are together almost all week at school, they were beyond excited when Cade got in the door! They could barely contain themselves to be still for a picture.

They boys were in excellent hands with Garrett's parents. They went to Spoons, watched a movie, and in their works "got to say potty words all night long"! They aren't cussing... they just think words like booty and toot are completely hilarious and we usually put a stop to it because they drive the adults crazy :) Chance and I called Cade when the movie ended at 9:00 and the boys were headed to bed. We were surprised to hear the next morning that Cade didn't fall asleep until 11:30 and was still up at 6:00! I went to get him a little before 9:00 am and the boys were a little glassy-eyed but wired!

For the first time since the spring of 2012, Cade took a nap at our house! We may do sleepovers more often :)
