More Fun at Home

Can you tell that I'm trying to squeeze as many things as possible into our last few weeks of summer? Here are a couple more fun and easy projects we've done recently:

Building with marshmallows and toothpicks! I was very impressed with how long Cade did this and how many good ideas he had!

Of course, we ate a few :)

And I tried to make it into a word game too... I can't stop myself!

We also made Flubber, which is a squishy, stretchy product kind of like Gak that I played with as a child. I like projects like this we can make together and then play with.

Here's the recipe if you want to try it at home:

In one bowl, mix 3/4 cup cold water, a few drops of food coloring, and 1 cup (2 bottles) Elmer's glue
In another bowl, mix 1/2 cup hot water and 1 teaspoon borax until the borax is completely dissolved.
Pour glue mixture into borax mixture. Stir until well mixed. Pour off excess water.
Store flubber in plastic bag for a day or two.

Have fun!
