First Karate Tournament

Cade is making great progress in Tiny Tigers and had his first karate tournament a few weekends ago. I really appreciate the outlook that this program has on children and learning; there is no competition at this level and each student is recognized individually for his or her strengths.

First, the boys received some instructions from their trainers.

Then they did their form. This is the same form that they practice in class, and this was an opportunity for each student to get one-on-one time with the instructor, which I think they really enjoyed.

The last event was weapons practice. Cade had to go first, so he wasn't exactly sure what to do, but he did well.

Each student got an award at the end. Cade's were for having a "black belt attitude" and for concentration.

Mr. Palmisano is one of Cade's instructors.

Cade had quite the cheering section!

Since the tournament, Cade has practiced crescent kicks and earned his camo headband. He just has one more step until graduating to his orange belt!
