10+ Years of Wonder

We like to kick off the wonder of the Christmas season by visiting Santa's Wonderland. We've watched this fine place grow from a little drive through to something that has everything to be its own city. For the first time this year, Santa's Town opens at 3:00 in the afternoon on weekends. While it felt a little strange to get there in the daylight, this is clearly the best time to go. There were no lines! Which means there was no (OK, just a little) fussing!

We had our first family pictures before we even got in.

Of course, they can't all be smiling goodness.

My brother came along too! Don't these two look merry and bright...

And then we saw Santa!! *Almost* everyone loved him.

Once the trauma was over, we headed to the less-threatening Texas flag stage.

Then it was time to watch one of Cade's favorite features at Santa's Wonderland - Marshall Frost! Annie was very excited from him at a distance, but when he got close, she jumped into Daddy's arms. Now would not be the time to take this child to Disney.

We visited the petting zoo, rode the train, and browsed through shops until dinner time. Cade usually really likes cooking his hot dog over the camp fire, but it was too hot outside this year for it to be enjoyable!

It was finally dark enough on our way out to be able to see the beautiful lights. Thank you so much, Mom and Dad, for making this part of our family's Christmas tradition for over 10 years. It is a perfect way to start the season. And yes, even Santa's Wonderland appears to be a purple CSHS fan!
