Thankful

I love Thanksgiving. I think I love it even more now that it is over-shadowed by Christmas and stores are even open on Thanksgiving, so I feel the need to give it a little extra attention. We were so blessed this year to spend Thanksgiving (and the weekends surrounding it) with lots of family, and also have some relaxing time for just the 4 of us at home.

The weekend before Thanksgiving, Alyssa's family gathered at our house for a delicious lunch of all the traditional Thanksgiving foods and a great time together.

On Thanksgiving Day, we traveled all the way to Bryan to celebrate with Chance's family. All of his aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Willis side of the family were there; 22 people in all! White Haired Nana had all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren under one roof. It was great to catch up with everyone.

Annie had a tough fall right after one of the pictures, but it was nothing that ice and mac and cheese couldn't fix!

Nana and Papa gave the kids their Christmas books early so they can read them all month. Who doesn't love to open presents in December?

We took advantage of the very warm weather to spend time cleaning up and playing in the backyard. The fall is so busy that we hardly have time to enjoy our own backyard, which also meant that we hardly had time to notice that it was completely covered in leaves. Seven bags and even more curses to the wind later, we temporarily had a very clean yard.

Of course, we couldn't have all work and no play on a Saturday! Chance moved the swingset about 6 feet closer to the porch, and this simple movement has made them play on it more than they have the entire time we've lived in this house! Annie is quite the adventurous climber, and I think she'll be going up and over the top like her brother in no time.

Instructions: Look through the space together and give me big smiles!
