Scarecrow Festival

Last weekend, we went to the Scarecrow Festival in Chappell Hill with my parents. This is an amazing outdoor arts and craft festival that we've been to a few times, and it is crazy to see how much our experience changes as Cade gets older (and more demanding) each year. Cade wasn't too interested in many of the activities this year because he was so tired and cranky, but things started to pick up a little after lunch :)

Yes, Cade is barefoot in a public place. I was not thrilled about this, but the struggle over shoes was one of the many battles I chose not to fight that day!

After lunch, we found a table where kids could decorate their own pumpkins. Such a cute activity! Cade wanted his pumpkin to look like Shrek, and we had a lot of fun. Yes, it took 2 adults to make everything stick on the pumpkin!

Our last stop was the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department. Cade liked this more than anything else we did that day, and we probably spent more time exploring the firetrucks than we spent looking at crafts.

The Shrek pumpkin had a little mishap on the way home so we "got" to redecorate him. Here is the finished product!
