We have such precious cargo in our backseat these days! Cade loves it when Annie comes along to pick him up from school.
Last Sunday, we took our first walk with Annie in the stroller down to the neighborhood playground.
I'm having lots of fun dressing Annie up in all of her different outfits. Here she is in an outfit from Ellen and ruffled socks from my Oma. She said that she gave these to me because she made my mom and me wear ruffled socks and wanted her great-granddaughter to wear them too!
We've also had visitors! White-Haired Nana, Aunt Betty, Nana, and Papa have all come over to hold sweet Annabeth. And the ladies from our church left a fun surprise in our yard!
Cade is incredibly sweet with his baby sister and is very helpful with her. He brushes her hair after her baths, reads "Brown Bear" to her, and holds her while we read his book (which, interestingly, is a dinosaur encyclopedia. We look carefully at every single page with our little scientist!)
My mom stayed with us last week, which was a fabulous help. She gave Cade attention that I just can't right now with my constant feeding of the baby. This scene in Cade's room was pretty typical of her visit! I was so very glad that she came and it was hard for both of us when she left!
Cade has also had another soccer practice. Check out the air he got while kicking the ball! I wasn't there, so I have no idea why he is upside down :)
At 12 days old, Annabeth already seems to have grown up a little! She has spent some time on her Einstein mat and seems to like it in very short time spans.
Just like when I would nurse Cade, the pets spend some quality time with me.
This weekend was the NFL draft. This used to be a weekend where our friends Russell, Chris, and Karen would all come to our house for a party. Karen and I would spend the day shopping while the boys camped out in front of the TV and argued about draft picks. Then we would all hang out together at night and pretend we were in college again. Fast forward about 10 years, and this is how Chance watched the draft this year:
Our life has already changed drastically with the arrival of Miss Annabeth, and we wouldn't have it any other way! Here's to so many adventures ahead...
