36 weeks - eek!

As of the middle of this week, we are officially 4 weeks away from meeting Little Lady! We know that the due date is not a guarantee, but as 2 people that love to plan, we are sticking with April 9 as our official deadline for getting everything done. I have quite a few projects going that need more than 4 weeks to finish, so I had better get moving! One project is a modified rag rug for the little girl's room. It is pretty tedious work, and I definitely should have started earlier in pregnancy.

Don't worry - when I posted this, I have actually made quite a bit of progress since this picture.

Here is my lovely 36 week picture! I was really exhausted when we took this because we had been at the Waco Zoo all day (another post about that later), so I hope that I usually look a little better than this. All in all, I'm feeling good... more tired at this point than I was with Cade and definitely bigger and heavier than I ever imagined I could be, but very thankful for a healthy and uneventful pregnancy so far!

Another fun preparation step this week was Cade's sibling tour at the hospital. It was so cute, and we had a very personal tour since he was the only child registered! First, he was outfitted with full doctor gear by Nurse Ruth.

Then, we saw the L&D room, which has been remodeled since last time we were there. The room is larger and allows for the infant to spend more time with mom and dad immediately after birth, which is exactly what we want. Unfortunately, the remodeling of the postpartum rooms resulted in nicer finishings but a smaller space. Hopefully we will get to come home pretty quick! While on the tour, we saw Nurse Magda, who was actually with us the entire time I was in labor with Cade. She even stayed after her shift to see me through to the end. It was neat for her to get to meet Cade (again!) and I hope she is on duty again in a few weeks! We also visited the nursery, and Cade was very excited to see the babies.

After watching a video about new babies, Cade got some practice holding a doll. He was so gentle and it was so precious. He is going to be a great big brother.

When we got home, Cade found some newborn diapers in his big brother backpack. After a few tries, he was able to put the diaper on Baby Mickey all by himself. While I promise not to make him actually change diapers, I know he will be a great help for his baby sister!
