School's Out!

The last day of school this semester was almost as exciting as the last day before summer! We were all really, really ready for a break.

The unofficial end of the semester in my department is the Powder Puff Party, a girls-only white elephant gift exchange. The decades long history of this party and all of the laughter that carries it from year to year make it one of my favorite holiday gatherings. I work with the best and the funniest women!

A couple of days before Cade's school let out, I went to watch him run in PE. Unfortunately, it was raining, so they just played in the gym. It was still great to watch him, though! And fortunately, I got to stay a little longer and hear a special performance in his music class. They learned the percussion to one of the Nutcracker songs and it was completely wonderful.

Cade's school had early release on their last day, so after his holiday party we picked up Annie and headed straight for a playground. These two monkeys were on the loose for the next 2 weeks!
